The Enugu State government, in a bid to position the workforce for effective service delivery embarked on a training/ workshop for all levels of staff of the State Ministry of Education. The workshop, which was hinged on the theme Strengthening the drive to achieve the ministrys goals using due precess and SERVICOM policies was structured according to the level and roles of participants and aimed at building the capacity of the staff to ensure compliance to due process as well as adoption of best practices in service delivery.
The staff, who were unanimous in acknowledging their satisfaction praised the state government for the well thought out training. They were full of confidence that they are now better equipped to render effective service.
The training/workshop ended on June 24, 2021 with all staff at the Director cadre.
The programme is one of the capacity building initiatives of the state government in the education sector.
Meanwhile, the Enugu State Commissioner for Education in several meetings held with various Education stakeholders has been sensitizing the populace on the fact that the state is maintaining zero tolerance for examination malpractice. At various times, he reminded stakeholders of the state education policies, which among others includes a compulsory positive participation in the state Uniform Examinations.
This positive participation in the State Uniform Examination is a pre condition for schools to continue to access the services of the Enugu State Ministry of Education, including registration and participation in terminal examinations such as Common Entrance Examination, WASCE, BECE, NABTEB and NECO Examinations.
