THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION MOURNS THE DEATH OF SCHOOL CHILDREN AT AWGU

The Commissioner of Education, Enugu State and the Permanent Secretary on Friday, 30th October, 2020 visited the Catholic Bishop of Awgu Diocese,  His Lordship, Most Reverend John Okoye to commiserate with him and families of those school children who lost their  lives following the tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday , 28th of October,  2020.

The commissioner expressed shock at the incident as he sympathised with His Lordship and the families of the children that lost their lives. He said that this is a very big loss not only to the Catholic Diocese of Awgu and the families of the children but to the entire humanity.

The commissioner informed His Lordship that His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State was saddened by the news of the death of the school children and that he should be assured of his solidarity and support of the Enugu State Government.

The commissioner prayed that God almighty will grant His Lordship and the families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In his response, His Lordship thanked the Enugu State Government ably led by His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi  Ugwuanyi for the solidarity. He enjoined all to continue to remember the families of the school children.
