MONITORING SCHOOLS ON COVID-19 GUIDELINE COMPLIANCES CONTINUED

Monitoring of schools for compliance to COVID-19 guidelines continued with visits to Government Secondary School Enugu, National Grammar School Nike, Community Secondary School Ede-Obara and Queen of the Rosary Secondary School, Nsukka.

In all the schools visited by the monitoring team, there was high level of awareness and compliance to COVID-19 guidelines.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Professor Uche Eze who led the team and the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Nwanneka Onah were particularly satisfied with the level of compliance by Government Secondary School, Enugu and Queen of the Rosary Secondary School, Nsukka. The team commended the management of both schools and admonished both the students and teachers to keep it up. The Commissioner also reminded the students that their examination is fast approaching. He told them that the only way to success is handwork, stressing that Enugu State government has zero tolerance to examination malpractice.

The situation at National Grammar School, Nike and Community Secondary School, Ede-Obara were short of expected standards. The Commissioner, who was visibly not pleased with both schools, asked the management to work on their areas of weaknesses and get things properly fixed before the commencement of school activities the next day.
